Oilers Win Heritage Classic, Advance to Conference Finals
Draisaitl, McDavid Lead Edmonton to Victory Over Flames

Leon Draisaitl scored his 40th goal of the season, and Connor McDavid added two more to his NHL-leading total as the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Calgary Flames 5-2 in the 2023 Tim Hortons Heritage Classic on Saturday night.
The win gives the Oilers a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series. Game 6 is set for Monday night in Edmonton.
Draisaitl opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 7:58 of the first period. McDavid made it 2-0 with a goal at 15:33.
The Flames cut the lead to one goal with a power-play goal by Elias Lindholm at 17:26. But McDavid restored the Oilers' two-goal lead with a goal at 7:58 of the second period.
Evan Bouchard made it 4-1 with a goal at 11:23 of the third period. Andrew Mangiapane brought the Flames back within two goals with a goal at 16:45, but Draisaitl sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with 1:10 remaining.
Mike Smith made 35 saves for the Oilers. Jacob Markstrom made 21 saves for the Flames.
The Oilers are now one win away from advancing to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2006.
